Cleaning robot for PV

A German company – TG hyLIFT, has created a cleaning robot specifically for floating and ground-mounted PV installations. It runs on batteries and using only water without detergent. The robot is currently being tested in Spain.

Cleaning robots like this are a great solution for so me floating designs that don’t have maintenance walkways between rows.

The robot also has an edge detection system that stops it from moving forward when it reaches the plant edges – even if the operator continues to press the joystick.
All motions are released once the ‘danger zone’ has been cleared, and cleaning can resume.
